St Martin’s Press
Founded in 1952, St. Martin’s Press is now one of the largest publishers in America. Best known for the strength and breadth of our list, we publish approximately 700 titles a year, and are equally committed to finding and nurturing the first-time author as we are to bestseller publishing.
St. Martin’s Press is proud to publish Geralyn Lucas’s groundbreaking memoir WHY I WORE LIPSTICK… to my mastectomy. With a voice that is soulful, spirited, funny, and honest, Geralyn Lucas documents her journey to recovery and reveals how she found herself and her courage while pieces of her were falling away. Her metamorphosis is a true inspiration for anyone as she addresses the universal themes of illness, self-image, sexuality, and heartbreak.
St. Martin’s is honored to work with such reputable companies dedicated to the fight against breast cancer, and participate in Courage Nights in Betsey Johnson stores and bookstores nationwide this October.
A portion of the proceeds from sales of the book will be donated to The Young Survival Coalition.

Boarding for Breast Cancer
The inspiration for Boarding For Breast Cancer (B4BC) was a young woman named Monica Steward. Monica, who was a very dear friend of all B4BC founders, started her battle with breast cancer at the age of 26.
B4BC is a non-profit, youth-focused education, awareness, and fundraising foundation. Their mission is to increase awareness about breast cancer, the importance of early detection and the value of a healthy lifestyle.
B4BC utilizes the platforms of action sports (snowboarding, surfing & skateboarding) and music events to reach and therefore educate young women and men. Gerlayn Lucas and B4BC crossed paths in 1998 when she was a quest speaker at the foundation’s largest outreach initiative, the Snowboard + Music Festival.
